beatrice

in case you're wondering, beatrice is the name of my car.
[the white jeep that is.]
she's quite the champ that beatrice.
she drives for miles on empty and still survives, and as i found out yesterday, she can survive car crashes.

yep, i got in a car crash...and no, it wasn't my fault.
[thank goodness]

luckily it wasn't anything too terribly bad, just a little fender bender, and honestly if you were to look at beatrice you wouldn't even know she had been hit.
the other ladies car on the other hand, unfortunately it doesn't look to nice.

as for me, i'm fine.
nothing more than a headache
i'm a lucky one.

beatrice, thanks for being the champ that i know you are!

it's the thought that counts!

valentine's day...not my thing.
i mean i love the idea that you have that special someone who thinks you're just the best, but why can't they just show that everyday and not on just on the one designated day.
i'm also a hater on flowers.
you pay a ridiculous price for them, they sit on your counter for a few days, and then they die.
because of this carter and i decided on no gifts. it just didn't seem to be worth it to us.
instead we celebrated by going on a date to the vow and eating far too much pizza with some of our best friends.
way better than a stuffed teddy and flowers if you ask me.

but before you think i'm a total anti present giver, let me just say i did make cookies...
well i tried.
mel and i decided that we would be so fun and sneaky and make carter and adam decorated frosted heart cookies. we went to walmart, got the frosting and sprinkles etc. and we were just so excited. that night we told them that we were having a girls night and they were not allowed. we kicked them out and to say the least they weren't too thrilled with us.

we are too sneaky.

after they were gone we began baking... well we baked to the best that mel and i could.
it wasn't a pretty sight.
we got the ingredients all mixed together and then we realized that something was not right...
the dough was so sticky! like horribly sticky.
so we threw some flour on the table and spread the dough across it hoping that it would work...it didn't.

but you know mel and i, we just decided to keep going with it.
so we used our little heart cookie cutters and made all sorts of heart sizes...only to realize that we could not pick the dough up off the table because it was all stuck to the table!!

we tried everything, including scraping it off with a spatula.
it just did not want to work.
but we refused to give up so we just started picking up what we could and molding it into homemade hearts..

clearly it wasn't pretty but we sure tried our hardest!
while they were baking i decided to write one of my poems. i'd say it was one of the best ones i've written.

finally the cookies were done, well some of them.
and some were doughy.
but most were rock hard, just the way we like them... :)
but to cover up the fact that they were so hard we decided to frost those little babies on up!

and then we of course had to write on them, the only problem was that the frosting was still just a bit frozen.
but hey, the cookies were already awful so why not keep going?!

i guess you could say we tried to cover up the burnt taste with a mouthful of frosting.
so at midnight we woke up the boys, who really weren't that thrilled at being woken up, and gave them our wonderful, burnt masterpiece.
it was fun trying to make them, but mel and i have decided that in the end,
it's the thought that counts...
right?

bro date!

a few weeks ago my parents asked me to come home and stay with my brothers for the weekend while they went out of town. i told them i could do it and then i realized that it would be over superbowl sunday...and my friends had planned a big party. of course i couldn't tell my parents no, but i wasn't too thrilled at having to miss my party,

so we compromised.

it was decided that i would drive home friday night and watch hunter play and then saturday after mack's game we would head back to logan and spend the weekend there.
so on friday i walked into the gym. i was pretty excited to watch hunter play and as i walked in looking for a place to sit i became ecstatic when i noticed my best friend sitting in the stands.

honestly my day was made after that.
it had been far too long since we had seen each other and the texts just weren't cutting it anymore.
so we caught up on life and watched hunter play.
[he's a champ.]
plus it was also fun to see this guy.

hunter ended up scoring 6 points and after that i treated them to some cafe rio.
kk, her family, and her darling roommate came with us and it was the best night! it was so much fun to catch up with them.
the ride home was me, the boys, kk, and her roommate. it was basically a party in the car.
we jammed, laughed, and had the best time.

saturday morning came and we went to watch the mack daddy play.
he scored 8 and won a close one.
we then headed up to logan.

i've been wanting the boys to come up and watch a hockey game for the longest time and i guess i just lucked out because not only was there a hockey game that weekend, but it turned out being the best one i've seen!

there was a fight within the first five minutes and they lasted throughout the whole game! not only that but it ended up going into overtime! unfortunately they didn't do a shootout and we had to end in a tie.
boo.

after that carter and i met up with adam and mel and we treated the boys to my most favorite: zeppes.

superbowl sunday came and it was a great day. we had hamburgers, steaks, and my brothers were there. my team ended up losing, but i was already such a happy kid i didn't mind all that much.
monday rolled around and the boys hung out while i was at school, when i got home we played ping pong at the tsc and then we went and got them some nice looking utah stated gear. as we waited for my parents to arrive in logan we went and watched carter play hockey.

i was sad to see  them leave, but i was so glad that they got to come hang out.
i'm not really sure who enjoyed it more, me or them, but either way i sure am glad that they came.
i miss them a whole lot while i'm here at school and it was such a fun weekend.
love you boys!

i'm back.

why hello there blog,
it's been a while.

between school, and friends, and everything else life has to offer i've been a pretty busy kid...
aaand i've let my blog become a bit neglected.
but thanks to the help of my two biggest stalkers, allie and sarah, i'm hopping back on the blogging horse,
well i'm going to try anyways.

some of the things i've been up to as of lately is tye-dye.
mel brought a kit up to school and we've become obsessed.
carter plays hockey and so we decided to become the best fans he's ever had by making some fun t-shirts for him...messy, but completely worth it!

mel and adam.

chrissy and nick.

we gave nick the camera and obviously he wasn't really worried whether or not we were ready for the picture to be taken.

i've spent some good quality time with these two.

love her!

chrissy and i were so happy to finally be out of the library for a change.

and finally we have carter, in all of his hockey glory.
he was one proud kid when he saw all of us lovely ladies reppin' our new shirts.

i've also been to a few more basketball and hockey games.
they just never seem to get old.

[please don't mind the milk jug. the garbage needed to be taken out.]

and of course you can't forget these people.
i spend every day with them, and they are the greatest.

most of my days are spent at the library with chrissy.
we've become pretty great friends her and i.
probably because of the fact that we "study" together for about 5 hours a day, but hey i'm ok with that.
she is such a fun girl.
we sometimes bring snacks and on this particular day we found our wheat thin with a hole in the middle of it...and after 5 hours of studying, we found it quite amusing.

i attended the best party period.

i celebrated mardi gras by flaunting a very flattering mask.

and then valentine's time came around.
i'll save the sappy gifts for another post but on the general day,
i stood in line to see the vow...

and then to top the night of we went to firehouse, my favorite.
except i didn't get the usual.
nope, it was a night of celebration...and they say go big or go home...
so we went big,
really big.

six people,
one giant pizza.
fabulous night...
and let's not forget the cute shirts mel and i made especially for valentine's day!

and i guess i have some explaining to do.
i've received a number of texts asking about it.
i've been spending a large amount of time with this boy.

his name is carter.  we met in the laundry room.
he's a gem.
but no worries, there's no ring on the finger and there won't be for about...
well forever.
it's the cat lady life for me.

so no worries, it's nothing serious.
but we have quite the adventures.
