thinkin' skinny.

welcome to my humble abode.
the lovely little tent shown above has been my house for the past two nights.

[fun facts about my home]
-it's a one man tent.
-we had four people sleeping in it.
-one of those people was mark knobbe.

the byu vs. utah state basketball game is today.
i knew it was a big deal, and i knew that i wanted to go.
so on wednesday morning brando ran to the spectrum to wait in line for tickets.

the way they worked it this year was a certain number of people could get tickets that would guarantee them a seat at the game.
you had teams of 6 (ours is a team of 4) and the "rules" were that you had to get a wristband, check in three times a day, and everyone in the team camps out.

my cousin opened his mission call wednesday night and so mel and i went to morgan to watch him open it.
[that drive is a whole different story in itself.]
but while we were down there we asked if we could borrow a tent and some sleeping bags.
when we got back to logan we met up with mark and brando to go set up our tent and that's when we realized it was going to be a snuggly night.

you may think that we all clumped together to get us all in the picture...
[we didn't.]
it was a tight squeeze.

our supplies included:
-one body pillow for our heads.
-we used our sleeping bags as padding to lay on.
-4 pillows.
-7 blankets.
-3 pairs of socks.
-running tights/thermals.
-sweats.
-under armour/ thermals.
-long sleeved t-shirt.
-sweatshirt.
-gloves.
-hats/head wraps.
-flashlight.
-phones.

we dressed real warm because it was supposed to be a really cold night.
it was a whole 25 degrees when we were setting out tent up...

and i bet it was a cold night.
when brando woke up, his gloves had frost on them.
but i was anything but cold all night.

i was taking off my clothes all night due to the fact that there was so much body heat in our tent.
when we woke up not only was there a huge stack of blankets on us, but there were random pieces of clothing piled on top.
all four of us were ripping off clothes all night.
i woke up in a long sleeve shirt, running tights, and socks.

it was such a fun night.
as we were setting up the tent we were all just laughing because we had no idea how we were all going to fit.
once we situated everything the best we could we all piled in.
mel and i were in the middle because we were afraid we would get cold.
[who were we kidding?!]
the two boys were seriously right up against the walls of the tent.
they were bulging out and we were waiting for the tent to rip any second.
but even that is not all.
once we all layed down we soon realized that you couldn't lay in whatever comfy position you wanted.
no, everyone had to spoon facing the same way...
and if you got uncomfortable, you just counted to three and everyone turned over to spoon the other way.
we were very in sync.

we had to be set up by 10 and so by midnight we realized there wasn't much left to do so we all started to drift off to sleep...
except the girls in the tent right behind us who thought they needed to talk until 3 a.m.
but the guy in the tent right next to us slept just fine,
we know this because we could hear him snoring all night.
and then mel started to sleep talk.
[funniest time of my life.]
she started to hyperventilate and say she couldn't breathe so mark was trying to help her, thinking she was awake.
the two of them were having a full out conversation, which woke brando and i up.
we started laughing and then mel woke up...
she had no idea what was going on.
p.s. this was at 2 in the morning.

so we stayed up and talked for a bit longer,
we then turned around for a comfier position and went to bed again.

the next morning we awoke well rested and rejuvenated hot, uncomfortable, and so tired.
as we unzipped our tent this kid walked by looked into our tent started laughing and said, "are you kidding me?!"
trust us, we wish we were!

utah state you better play real good because i sacrificed two night of sleeping for you!
i love college!
